The Ideal Live Person Ad Technique

I just signed up for live person early this morning, or late last night, however you look at it. Since I am still waiting on my profile to get approved, I’m not able to get too much into detail how it works because… well… I honestly dont know.

From what I have gathered so far I download an IM type client that sends me messages from someone needing help in my area of expertise, if they happen to pick me over any one of the other 30,000 people on the site. I get paid a set amount of money for each minute I am talking with them. I get a check every month that I make over $50 USD or so. I am able to change the amount to charge and the payout amount to my liking. Some people charge over $15 a minute, that is over $4,000 an hour!!! Thats crazy!

After realising what exactly I am up agains, I started to brainstorm of ways to get people to choose me over someone else. I am no doctor, psychic, counselor or any other professional. But I do have a little bit of common sense and realise that people some times just need someone on the outside to hear both sides of the story and give some un-biast opinions. DING! Theres my niche.

Now that I know what I will be doing, basically I will be just a dumping ground for caged emotions, I can start thinking of where I want to advertise.

First thing is first, get a blog through blogspot, myspace, myyearbook or any other social networking site to do it for free, or better yet, spend the little bit of change that it will cost to get your OWN site up and running. If you are interested you can contact a freelance web designer. To get the basics done your talking about $100 to $200 for everything (including web hosting) to be up and running for a year. I would recommend Ohio IT Management.

Next thing to do is Twitter, I don’t know why, but everybody wants to know what everybody else is doing at all times. WARNING: Twitter can be extremely addictive, I would be some of you already know that though. This can be connected to your blog and RSS feed. More importantly your blog and you’re live person link.

I don’t know if any of you have heard of this little site, probably not, but it is called craigslist! That was a joke by the way. Use it, it is absolutely 100% free. Sell cars, trucks, games, movies, music, tv’s, vcr’s, cats, dogs and most importantly… yourself! Make an ad on craigslist saying something like “Need Help” as the subject, then on the body of your ad, “We all need help with [insert service here] every once in a while. Why not let me lend a hand and give all the advice/information you need. Visit me here”. That’s it, it stays up for 30 days. You can post it every two days and be legal within the craigslist terms of use.

This one is my personal favorite, I do some web design and marketing from time to time. I use google like no other. I have adwords, adsense, maps, checkout, analytics, I mean you name it and I use it. As a matter of fact, if you look on this post, you will see “ads by google” and then some links. That is called adsense, the ads to show on your website. I will make another blog post coming some time for adsense. Why do you need to know that to make money with live person? You don’t, you need to know what adwords are. Adwords are the actual ads that go on adsense. Each link on this site is another ad to someone who is using adwords. Adwords are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!! You can pay as little as a penny every time someone clicks on one of your ads. I like to keep it around 10 cents to a dollar per click depending on how much extra cash I have to play with at the time.

By posting ads on adwords, you will get seen thousands of times per day. Wanna know some big sites that use adsense (the ones that show the adwords ads)? Ever hear of myspace? Yea that’s right, even the internet social monster uses google ads to pay for us all to stay connected. How many hits does myspace get per month? Somewhere in the ball park of 25 to 30 billion hits, just a guess, I honestly don’t have a clue to the actual number but it’s up there! With your ad having a chance to be seen on myspace by millions of people online per day, you have a huge chance of getting at least someone checking you out. Just point the ad to your live person profile and presto, you have a potential customer.

One last thing off the top of my head. How about business cards? Vista Print gives you 250 of them for free, just pay shipping. Yea, it might be low tech and the old way of thinking. But lots of people still use them. If you don’t want to spend the $100 to get your own website, why not just spend the $10 and buy the domain name from go daddy, point it to your liveperson.com profile? Pass your business cards around town and wait for you computer to ring. Around $10 for a great way to advertise your home online business?
